Post-Script as Prequel
A little bit about me. And this series…
I am a “Boomer” in my mid-60’s who has continuously saved and invested since my early 20’s. For the 1st 40 years of my career, I was extremely fortunate to work as a salaried employee for a major chemical company that provided generous benefits, a defined-benefit pension plan and a well-matched defined-contribution plan (aka a 401(k)). My career took a U-turn at 62 when I was unexpectedly laid off 6-8 years before I planned to retire. This became the opportunity to turn my hobby of investing into my 2nd career as a Registered Investment Advisor Representative with The Investor Advisory Group LLC.
The vignettes in this series are nuggets from my life experience that transcend age, gender, race and circumstances; they are shared to help you achieve your best financial outcomes. The topics are presented in roughly chronological order as one would encounter them, from early adulthood struggles through to end-of-life considerations. They are written so you can pick-and-choose and skip around as fits your needs, interests and situation. Though since I am an engineer at my core I would mow through these in linear fashion 😉. Regardless of how you interact with these stories, I hope you find them challenging, engaging – and ultimately – useful.
